Biography:
Mr. Stiles is a native of Arkansas, and grew up on a cotton and soybean farm in Lee County. He received a B.S. degree in agribusiness and economics at Arkansas State University in 1993. He earned a M.S. degree in agribusiness management at Mississippi State University in 1995. From 1996 through 1998, he was employed with Farm Credit Services of Eastern Arkansas and Farm Credit of Southwest Florida as a commercial lender providing working capital, intermediate term, and mortgage credit to agriculture producers and agribusinesses. Scott joined the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service in 1999 and is based at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro with a 100 percent extension appointment. He provides individual assistance to row crop producers in the areas of farm anagement, commodity marketing, and agriculture policy. Scott publishes the University of Arkansas Extension wheat budgets, speaks extensively throughout eastern Arkansas on commodity markets, and is a contributing writer for many farm publications.
